SHS Virtual Learning Parent Letter

March 26, 2020

Dear SHS Parents and Guardians,

The school district is moving forward with a virtual learning model after spring break. There will not be any students in the high school during this time. We know that there will be challenges with this new model and we will work hard to problem-solve with families. We will continue with virtual learning until students are allowed to return to school.

Here is an overview for the week of March 30th.

Monday, March 30th:  Teacher Work Day

Tuesday, March 31st:  Teacher/Student Connection Day

  • Teachers will be online using Zoom.us to connect with students.  We are asking all students to access their Schoology/Google Classroom accounts and find their individual teacher links.  During the hours of 9 to 11am and 1 to 3pm, teachers will be “Live” online allowing students to access their teachers virtually and ensure they are able to connect from home.

Wednesday, April 1st:  First Day of Virtual Learning

If your student is still in need of a Chromebook, please email jami.mclean@scsd2.com or contact the school at 672-2495 to arrange a time to pick up a device.  The school district is still problem solving internet access issues for families who indicated this need on the technology survey sent out to parents last week.  We will contact families as soon as a solution is found. During this time, your student’s school counselor is your first line of defense for challenges with attendance, virtual learning, and social/emotional wellbeing. The best way to make contact with your counselor is through email. Click here for counselor contact information.

As we move forward in this process, additional information will be sent out to parents, posted on the school and district website.  Click here for the district website link.  Please know, the continued education of your student is very important to us.  If you have questions or are experiencing technology issues, please do not hesitate to contact your student’s counselor or contact the school by calling 672-2495.

Sincerely,

SHS Administration
