*** Your child must turn 4 years old by September 15, 2025. If your child is accepted, you will be required to pay a non-refundable program fee of $100 to hold your spot in the Pre-K program.
- The first day of Pre-K is August 19, 2025! The program will follow the SCSD2 school calendar (teacher days).

Availability:
This program is limited to 24 full-time and 12 part-time children. Part-time Pre-K will be five days a week with hours available in the mornings between 7:00 am and 12:00 pm. Full-time Pre-K will be five days a week available between 7:00 am and 5:15 pm.
Program Eligibility:
Any child that will be 4 years old by September 15, 2025.
Child must be able to go to the bathroom unassisted.
Hours of Operation:
This program will offer full-time childcare from 7:00 am to 5:15 pm, Monday through Friday.
Days of operation will match work days for an SCSD2 Teacher (185 days/year) as outlined in the 2025-2026 calendar.
Refunds will not be issued for children that do not attend Pre-K due to vacation or an illness.
Tuition:
$100 Non-Refundable Program Fee if selected into the Pre-K Program
Full-time child (8 hours/day) will cost $43/day for all 5 days [Full-time will be available between 7:00 am and 5:15 pm.]
Part-time child (4 hours/day) will cost $25/day for all 5 days [Part-time will only be available in the mornings between 7:00 am and 12:00 pm.]
Program Vision:
The SCSD2 Pre-K Program supports early childhood education and social-emotional development with a focus on the following:
- Learning through play that is both teacher and child directed
- Introduction to early learning in a fun, engaging and caring environment
- Learning time to enhance development of language, cognitive, and fine/gross motor skills
Pre-K Teachers & Locations:
- At Highland Park Elementary, Pre-K teacher Britnee Geringer has ten years experience. She has a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
- At Woodland Park Elementary, Pre-K teacher Pepper Stevens has spent the last three years with us and had four years of previous experience. She has a bachelor’s degree and is also finishing her endorsement in Early Childhood Education.
