Benefits
Wyoming Retirement System (WRS) Pension Plan – Participation in WRS Public Employee Pension Plan is required by State Statute. This pension plan requires an 18.12% contribution of an employee’s total salary; SCSD2 pays 14.69% of this contribution, and the employee pays 3.43% of this contribution. Employees may also enroll in a 457 Deferred Compensation Plan through the Wyoming Retirement System at their expense.
Medical & Dental Insurance – Administered by WEBT, the District offers combined Medical and Dental Insurance for all employees who work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week. Medical coverage is provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming, and Dental coverage is provided by Delta Dental. The annual open enrollment period for this plan takes place in November, for coverage beginning January 1st. Vision Insurance – Administered by WEBT, the District offers Vision Insurance to all regular employees. Coverage is provided by VSP. A summary of monthly premiums and plan benefits can be found here. The annual open enrollment period for this plan takes place in November, for coverage beginning January 1st.
Basic Life Insurance – The District provides a Basic Life Insurance policy through Cigna for all employees who work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week. Enrollment is automatic and the premium is paid for entirely by the District. Employees have the option to add their spouse and children to the policy for a monthly premium of $0.36. Enrollment in this plan is only available for the first thirty (30) days of employment and is not included in the District’s annual open enrollment period.
Life Insurance – Administered by Cigna, the District offers a Supplemental Term Life Insurance plan for all employees who work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week. Personal Accident Insurance – Administered by Cigna, the District offers a Personal Accident Insurance Plan for all employees who work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week. Flexible Spending Account (FSA) – Administered by Further, the District offers all employees who work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week the opportunity to enroll in an FSA on an annual basis, with open enrollment in May for a July 1st-June 30th plan year. Employees are not required to enroll in the District’s Health & Dental Insurance Plan in order to participate in the FSA.
Sick Leave Bank – In lieu of short- and long-term disability insurance, the district offers all employees that accrue sick leave the opportunity to enroll in the Sick Leave Bank. Employees who wish to enroll are required to make a one-time donation of one (1) sick leave day to the bank. If the composite Sick Leave Bank drops to less than one hundred days, an additional day will automatically be withheld from employees’ sick leave and employees will be notified accordingly. Additional information regarding the Sick Leave Bank can be found here. Open enrollment for participation in the Sick Leave Bank is held annually.
