School Closure Update

Dear SCSD2 Families,

While our schools remain closed to students, SCSD2 teachers are working hard on plans to continue educating children this spring. Here are some key updates for SCSD2 families:

Virtual Education: The district is working on a start date for virtual education and will communicate the date as soon as possible. Once schedules are established, each school will communicate details with families.

Device Checkout: If needed, parents may checkout devices from schools on Friday, March 20, and Monday, March 30. If you have not already done so, please complete this technology survey to let your school know your device and internet needs. We recommend that families have a device on hand for each child, so keep this in mind as you complete the survey. Please note that SHS is checking out devices now.

Spring Break: Spring break is scheduled for Monday, March 23, through Friday, March 27. Schools will be closed during this time.

Sack Lunches: The district will continue to provide sack lunches to families in need. Stop by your school between 10:00 and 12:00 noon daily to pick up a lunch. Lunches will not be provided during spring break.

In developing our plans, we continue to rely on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the Wyoming Department of Health, the Sheridan County Health Officer, and the Sheridan County Incident Management Team. Our primary concern is always for the health and safety of our community and families. The CDC and local health officials advise parents to keep children at home and avoid gathering with friends.
