SHS Drama Club Presents – The METAmorphosis

The Sheridan High School Drama Club will present an original new play, The METAmorphosis, on November 19th, 20th, and 21st, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. Devised by the Fall Drama students under the direction of Grace Cannon, the play follows three students working together on reading The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka for English class through distance learning during COVID-19 quarantine.

As these students confront different challenges in their lives, Kafka’s story seems to mirror some of their own experiences. These characters were created partly from the live experiences of the Fall Drama students, but also from their individual and collective imaginations. This story is specifically about the great impact that the changes due to COVID-19 have had on our social lives and relationships.

This production was designed to accommodate the uncertainties of the Covid pandemic, so instead of attending a performance in the Sue Henry Auditorium, audience members will experience the show by watching it online. They will “read” Kafka’s story along with the students and watch the change and growth that occurs as a result

Tickets will be $10 and can be purchased at wyotheater.com. Audience members will be provided with the link for the play the day of the scheduled performance.
