Senior Presentation

Wednesday, May 17, 2023

Students will have their final presentation in the auditorium with a pizza party in the cafeteria immediately after. At this meeting, students will pick up their SHS Senior Checkout Sheet.

All 2nd semester teachers, Librarian (Mrs. Leibrich), Activities Office (Mrs. Hanson), Government Teacher, Student Planning Office (Mrs. Mavrakis), Technology (Mrs. McLean), and Discipline Office (Mr. Murner, Mr. Simmons) must sign-off on this form indicating all obligations/requirements have been met.  Please note:  Your counselor is the LAST person to sign the checkout form.  

*ALL SHS SENIOR CHECKOUT FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED & SIGNED BY YOUR COUNSELOR BY 4:00 P.M. ON FRIDAY, MAY 26, IN ORDER TO WALK AT  GRADUATION*


Seniors – Last Week

Monday, May 22, 2023

Students attend all classes and work to obtain signatures on check-out sheet. Teachers will not sign the checkout form until the student has passed the class and returned all textbooks and equipment.

Wednesday, May 24, 2023 – LAST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR SENIORS

Students will work to obtain signatures and attend scheduled meeting time with their counselors. Students who miss his/her appointment will have to come back on Thursday as appointments are scheduled in 5 minute increments all day. 


Graduation Items

Friday, May 26, 2023 @ 9 AM – Graduation Practice

Graduation practice will begin at 9:00 a.m. sharp!

Caps and gowns will be distributed at this time. In order to participate in the graduation ceremony on Sunday, May 28th, seniors must attend graduation practice.

Friday, May 26, 2023 @ 10 AMElementary Walk-Through

Students can participate in walking through the elementary school they went to. Students who did not go to school here can join a friend. Buses will be available in front of SHS. Each school has a variety of activities and/or assemblies directed by the school administrator. Students will wear their caps and gowns for this event.

Sunday, May 28, 2023Graduation Day

The Graduation Ceremony begins at 11:00 a.m. in the Homer Scott Stadium (weather permitting).  Graduates are to arrive at 10:15 a.m. and meet in the gymnasium to prepare for the processional.  Handicap parking will be available in the bus loop.

Appropriate dress is required under the cap and gown; no altering or decorating of the  gown is permitted. Since graduation is a formal ceremony, students are highly encouraged to wear professional or semi-formal attire.  

NOTE FROM THE PRINCIPAL – Seniors who show up for graduation practice, or the graduation ceremony dressed improperly for school, or under the influence of alcohol/drugs, will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony.


Requirements not met

Seniors who are not meeting graduation requirements because of failing grades or lack of credits need to remain in school until the end of the school year and will not participate in the May graduation ceremony. Summer School is June 12-30 for seniors who still need credit(s) to graduate, and diplomas will be awarded when requirements are met.

Monday, May 22, 2023Senior Academic Awards Night

The academic awards ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Main Gym. Seniors, as you receive notice of scholarships you are awarded, please stop by the College Connection Center and share your news with Mrs. Mavrakis, so you can be recognized at SHS Senior Awards Night!

Wednesday, May 24, 2023Senior Breakfast

All seniors, faculty and staff members are invited to attend the free annual Senior Breakfast beginning at 7:00 a.m. at the Elks Lodge, located at 45 West Brundage St.    

Dress attire is requested. Enter through main lodge doors.
