Benefits
Wyoming Retirement System (WRS) Pension Plan – Participation in WRS Public Employee Pension Plan is required by State Statute. This pension plan requires an 18.12% contribution of an employee’s total salary; SCSD2 pays 14.69% of this contribution, and the employee pays 3.43% of this contribution. Employees may also enroll in a 457 Deferred Compensation Plan through the Wyoming Retirement System at their expense.
WRS 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan – Employees of the district are eligible to contribute to the Wyoming Retirement System 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan. Enrollees can contribute up to $22,500 annually.
403B Tax Sheltered Plan – Employees scheduled to work an average of four hours per day or more are eligible to participate in a 403B tax sheltered plan. These plans allow staff to save up to $22,500 annually for retirement by contributing to individual accounts through an approved vendor.
Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance – Administered by WEBT, the District offers Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance for all employees who work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week. Medical coverage is provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming, Dental coverage is provided by Delta Dental and Vision coverage is provided by VSP. The annual open enrollment period for these plans take place in November, for coverage beginning January 1st. Premium rates for medical, dental and vision insurance are reviewed annually, and go into effect on July 1st each year.
Basic Life Insurance (NEW YORK LIFE) – The District provides a Basic Life Insurance policy for all employees who work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week. Enrollment is automatic and the premium is paid for entirely by the District. Employees have the option to add their spouse and children to the policy for a low monthly premium. Enrollment in this plan is only available for the first thirty (30) days of employment and is not included in the District’s annual open enrollment period.
Life and AD&D Insurance (NEW YORK LIFE) – The district offers additional life insurance up to $50,000 guaranteed, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance up to $500,000 guaranteed.
Accident Insurance (AFLAC) – This benefit provides cash directly to an employee to help pay for medical or non-medical costs associated with treatment in the event of a covered accident. Benefit includes 24 hour coverage, pays first dollar benefits for injuries, and wellness pay covered family members.
Critical Illness Insurance (AFLAC) – This benefit provides cash benefits when an insured person is diagnosed with a covered critical illness. Benefits are paid directly to employees and provide a lump-sum benefit to help with out-of-pocket medical expenses and living expenses that can accompany a covered critical illness. This can be up to a $30,000 benefit with no health questions asked. There are over 23 covered events including Heart Attack, Stroke, Brain Tumors, MS, ALS, Cancer, etc. and wellness pay for employee and spouse.
Hospital Indemnity Insurance (AFLAC): This benefit provides cash directly to an employee to help pay for medical or non-medical costs associated with a covered hospital stay, due to sickness or accidental injury. This pays up to $2,000 for hospital admission and wellness pay for every covered family member.
Short Term Disability (AFLAC): This benefit provides payment when a covered employee is disabled and unable to work due to an injury or sickness. Benefit payments begin after an elimination period is satisfied and continue during disability, up to the disability benefit period.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA) – Administered by Further, the District offers all employees who work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week the opportunity to enroll in an FSA on an annual basis, with open enrollment in May for a July 1st-June 30th plan year. Employees are not required to enroll in the District’s Health & Dental Insurance Plan in order to participate in the FSA.
Sick Leave Bank – The district offers all employees that accrue sick leave the opportunity to enroll in the Sick Leave Bank. Employees who wish to enroll are required to make a one-time donation of one (1) sick leave day to the bank. If the composite Sick Leave Bank drops to less than one hundred days, an additional day will automatically be withheld from employees’ sick leave and employees will be notified accordingly.
