2015 Meadowlark School Improvement Plan

Over the past three years, Meadowlark has focused on achieving high academic standards in the areas of writing, reading and math. Our performance on the state PAWS assessments ranks in the top percentiles continually compared to other elementary schools across the state.

In 2012, Meadowlark Elementary School was awarded the National Blue Ribbon Award for Excellence. Looking to the future, Meadowlark has already begun implementing the new Common Core State Standards into our curriculum in preparation for the Smarter Balance assessments.

We have also increased efforts towards a balanced literacy approach with our essential writing outcomes and reading instruction. More reading intervention groups have been created to meet the needs of our students. Within our professional learning community teams, we are examining our math curriculum as well to ensure instruction is matching the new standards while ensuring student need is being met.
