March 13 – Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) Update

Dear SCSD2 Staff, Students, and Parents,

Today, the district participated in a statewide conference call regarding the response to COVID 19 in Wyoming. The call was led by Superintendent Jillian Balow and Dr. Alexia Harrist, our state health officer. Their guidance was clear, that schools should continue normal operations with minor adjustments to large gatherings such as concerts. The information they provided was based on the most current guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and the Wyoming Department of Health. Please remember that this is a very fluid situation, so we will continue to communicate regularly with health officials.

As I have shared before, our state and community are all in this together. We therefore ask that all community members stay vigilant through frequent handwashing and standard sanitary precautions. Individuals exhibiting flu-like symptoms, including a fever of 100.4F or higher, should stay home. For information on the local response, we encourage you to visit the Sheridan County website: https://www.sheridancounty.com/sheridan-county-coronavirus-preparedness/.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Craig Dougherty, Superintendent
