Which Yalta Conference Agreement Was Never Fulfilled
Four days later, on 27 March, the Soviet People`s Commissariat for Internal Affairs (NKVD) arrested 16 Polish opposition leaders who had been invited to participate in the provisional government`s negotiations. The arrests were part of an NKVD ruse that transported the leaders to Moscow for a subsequent show trial, followed by a gulag sentence. Churchill then argued to Roosevelt that it was “as simple as a pike stick” that Moscow`s tactic was to delay the deadline for holding free elections “while the Lublin Committee consolidates its power.” The Polish elections of January 16, 1947 led to an official transformation of Poland into a communist state in 1949. In return, Stalin promised that the Soviet Union would enter the Pacific War three months after Germany`s defeat. Later, in Potsdam, Stalin promised President Truman to respect the national unity of Korea, which would be partially occupied by Soviet troops. “It is not so difficult to stop unity in wartime, because there is a common goal of defeating the common enemy, which is clear to everyone. The difficult task will come after the war, when different interests will tend to divide the Allies. It is our duty to ensure that our relations are as strong in peacetime as they are in times of war. Students will serve as political leaders at kanta`s lecture and rewrite the lecture. They will discuss the issues discussed at the conference to determine whether they will achieve the same goals as what actually happened in 1945. Students will then predict the impact of the conference on the course of the Cold War and on our world today.
In addition to the Potsdam Agreement, Churchill was appointed on 26 July; Truman; and Chiang Kai-shek, chairman of the Chinese Nationalist government (the Soviet Union was not at war with Japan), issued the Potsdam Declaration, which set out the terms of Japan`s surrender to Asia during World War II. The Soviet Union submitted to the Conference a proposal on mandated territories in accordance with what was decided at the von Yalta Conference and the Charter of the United Nations. There were banquets where countless vodka toasts were drunk. Stalin once described Roosevelt as “the main forger of the instruments that led to the mobilization of the world against Hitler.” He called Churchill “the man born once every hundred years” and “the bravest statesman in the world.” .
