Spring Testing Update – Parent Letter

March 27, 2020

Dear SHS Parents, Guardians, and Students,

As we continue to navigate through the upcoming weeks of virtual instruction, we want parents and students to be informed of any new information regarding spring assessments.  Information will be shared once we are able to confirm any and all new changes that could affect our students. Please review the following information that is available at this time from the Wyoming Department of Education and AP College Board.

  • ACT Testing:  ACT has cancelled all State and Federal testing for March and April.  Our school assigned ACT assessment date of April 7th has been cancelled.  Administration is working closely with ACT to decide how to best move forward. Once final decisions have been made, all answers and information will be shared with our junior students and parents as soon as possible.
  • Wy-Topp Testing:  The Spring Wy-Topp Summative Assessment scheduled to begin Wednesday, April 15th has been cancelled for the 2019-2020 school year.  This test was for all freshman and sophomore students.
  • AP Courses:  Many of our students are currently enrolled in various AP courses at Sheridan High School.  Moving forward, students will be able to complete their exams for most of these courses online.  Additional information will be shared out by April 3rd. Students and parents are welcome to review additional information by visiting the following AP Central Link.

District and school administration are closely monitoring all new information concerning our spring assessments.  Once we are able to confirm any new information, parents and students will be notified promptly of any updates. Information will also be added to the school website for future reference.

Sincerely,

SHS Administration
