Session Description:

How do teachers use technology to individualize instruction and meet the demands of the Common Core in a 21st Century world? By unlocking the potential of technology, participants will have a greater understanding of the global resources available for today’s classrooms. This session demonstrates authentic technology integration to differentiate instruction for every student, thereby increasing engagement and achievement.

Speaker Bios:

Melissa Rasmussen has been a teacher for 6 years, beginning in Kindergarten and currently teaching in First Grade. She has been a one-to-one iPod/iPad classroom for the past 4 years, implementing a variety of apps into reading, writing, and math instruction.  Melissa has a Masters Degree in Reading and Literacy from Walden University.

Kristi Von Krosigk has been in the field of education for 24 years.   Her experience ranges from elementary classroom teacher, University  of Wyoming methods instructor, consultant, Literacy Coordinator and  Common Core State Standards Technology Integrator. Kristi currently provides mentoring and supervision to SCSD #2’s  University of Wyoming student teachers, as well as technology integration, and professional development for the staff at Henry A. Coffeen.
