Apples, Apples, Everywhere!
Story Students recently paid a visit to one of our student’s ranch to pick apples from their orchard. It was a beautiful day and we gathered tons of delicious apples to enjoy!
The orchard is abotu 60 years old and contains a few different species, so students got to marvel at all the different colors and sizes that apples can come in.
After picking, we went for a short hike on the ranch and learned about the work the family is doing to reclaim the land and clean up many years of debris that had accumulated. Students learned how the family is recycling anything they can in order to put what was once garbage to use. They are also working hard to reinvigorate the soil so that it will be able to support their cattle.
Thank you to the Labbe family for your hospitality!
